FORMAT RULES

CLAN RIVALS (GOLD or DIAMOND)

In order to clarify how Clan Rivals functions, below are the requirements and instructions for this type of tournament.

  • Players bring one legal 40/40 deck with them to the tournament. Whether the deck is gold or diamond will depend on the format chosen by the TO

  • Players choose one of the 2 available clan specific boosters. Cards are fixed in each clan specific booster

  • Players MUST add the cards from the booster they choose to their deck

  • Players MAY then trim their deck down to the 40/40 minimum, maintaining the cards from the clan rivals booster in their deck

  • The deck must still be legal deck AFTER you add the cards i.e. you may only have one copy of each unique card or event and only three copies of any non-unique card

CUBIC ZIRCONIA (PRE-DIAMOND)

All major Diamond rules changes, errata and clarifications are in effect. Go to: http://l5r.alderac.com/ccg/diamond_ruleschanges.html

Players should bring a print-out of the diamond spoiler list with them to the tournament.

The full Diamond spoiler list is available from the AEG site at the following address: http://l5r.alderac.com/ccg/diamond_spoiler.html

Players may use proxies for cards based on the following criteria (all other cards must be originals)

  • Cards that are included in the Diamond list and which only have a version printed prior to Spirit Wars

  • Any card that is included in the Diamond list but has not been printed, such as the new Clan champions and House Guard followers

  • Proxies must be clearly legible and include full card text

  • Proxied cards must be contained within opaque sleeves

  • Proxies must not mark in such a way as to be distinguishable from the rest of the non-proxied deck e.g. thicker density in the deck compared to non-proxied cards

In order to eliminate some of the more broken open strategies, there are several imposed restrictions on deck construction.
